The Arc of San Diego is one of the region's largest human service providers for people with disabilities. Since 1951, The Arc of San Diego has been providing services to people with disabilities and now serves more than 2,500 children and adults throughout San Diego County. 

Development Coordinator

Summary 
 

Working under the supervision of the Vice President of Marketing & Development, the Development Coordinator develops and executes the organization’s resource development efforts and other tasks as assigned. 

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
  1. Assist in implementing development plan that includes: direct mail, special events, grants management, and donor stewardship.

  2. Perform research on foundations, corporations, public sources, and individuals to identify and evaluate prospective donors and grant opportunities

  3. Prepare and submit grant proposals and assist with complying with funding as required by funders

  4. Coordinate organization’s direct mail appeals

  5. Assist with coordinating and implementing special events

  6. Assist with inquiries regarding in-kind donations

  7. Implement donor stewardship activities

  8. Conduct Annual Membership Campaign and Arc Employee Giving Campaign

  9. Manage annual raffle registration and submission of reports

  10. Supports Chapters and Auxiliaries in their fundraising efforts

  11. Provides support as needed to assist Vice President of Marketing & Development with support in major gifts, planned gifts, special events and capital campaign activities.

 
Education and/or Experience
 

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent with 1-2 years related experience.  Must have a valid California Drivers license, have 36 months of driving experience, and be able to transport consumers in an Arc vehicle.
