Job Description

The Development Director, Annual Giving is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded development professional to join a strong development team and hold a senior staff position.  The Development Director will lead the building and management of the annual giving program with a focus on retention and advancement of current donors.  The Director will identify prospects for major giving and will develop and steward a mid-tier range of donors and manage giving circles.  In addition, the Development Director, working with the Communications & Events Manager, will be the lead staff in supervising and directing the annual gala and individual donor events.  Key responsibilities include:  Leading mid-tier Individual Giving – 50%, Annual Giving Program Strategy and Execution – 25%, Event Management – 15%, Prospect Research – 10%.  The position reports to the Chief Development & External Affairs Officer. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of five to seven years fundraising experience including experience with direct mail, personal solicitation, and events management * Demonstrated ability to be entrepreneurial in handling multiple tasks and projects and meeting established goals within specific time frames * Comfort with face-face fundraising required * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well independently and as part of a team * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Strong computer and research skills * Innovative in developing new annual giving strategies.
