Casa Cornelia Law Center, located in San Diego, CA, is a non-profit law firm providing quality pro bono legal services to victims of human and civil rights violations. The Center has a primary commitment to the indigent within the immigrant community in Southern California. Casa Cornelia strives to educate others regarding the impact of immigration law and policy on society and the public good.


Casa Cornelia is seeking a talented Grants Manager to join its development/fundraising team. The position requires a background in institutional funding management and grant writing. Experience with government grants and private foundations; contract compliance and reporting; managing grantor relationships and budgets is required. This highly responsible position provides assessment and planning input; research oversight, grant preparation and submission; reporting, performance tracking and analysis. The Grants Manager is responsible for ongoing grant prospect research and grant funding projections for organizational budget planning. S/he coordinates and facilitates internal reporting, planning and implementation meetings for grants. This position is part of the Development Team and supports special Development Office projects.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of successful grant research and writing experience, a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in English, Communications, or related field (MA degree in related fields or non-profit grant writing and management preferred), proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management, have project and budget management skills, and a track record of securing grants for non-profit organizations.

The position requires commitment to Casa Cornelia’s mission, a ‘self-starter’ attitude, superior writing ability, strong organizational, administrative and management skills; the ability to work on various projects simultaneously with a strong eye for detail. Candidates will be able to help develop and manage budgets and oversee invoicing, while analyzing trends and allocations in collaboration with accounting. Candidates will also have experience in collaborating on the development and implementation of contract deliverables and budgets.
