Director of DevelopmentCompany: Crisis House
Date Posted: May 25, 2017
At Crisis House, we respond immediately to stop the cycle of domestic violence and homelessness and connect families and individuals to crucial resources that empower them to renew their lives.
Crisis House was founded in 1970 by a small group of East County citizens recognizing the need to provide confidential counseling, emergency and social services to very low income, homeless and underserved people. It was the very first community- based social service agency in the East County region of San Diego and in 1988 became a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity.
Today, Crisis House is a landmark multi-service Resource Center and has grown to include housing and special veterans programs. Crisis House continues to be the only Emergency Resource Center in the East County serving the homeless and is a leader in the provision of crucial services for women and their children who have survived domestic violence.
Crisis House has a proven track record of success. Remarkably, ninety five percent (95%) of those graduating from our New Journey transitional housing program increase their income and acquire permanent housing. Notably, our New Journey transitional housing program for women and their children was ranked as the Number One Housing Program in the region in 2016 by the Regional Continuum of Care Council.
