Marketing & Special Events Manager

  • Coordinate the production of agency collateral materials with independent graphic design contractors 
    • Booths and displays, signage and posters, flyers, brochures, fact sheet and program profiles, photos, annual report, donor packets, letters and presentations, flyers, stationery, ads
  • Consistently source information from program staff and community partners to develop web, print and social media content and  infographics
  • Maintain profiles on Charity Navigator, Guidestar and similar nonprofit evaluation sites


Public Relations

  • Write and distribute press releases, actively seek opportunities to pitch local papers and online media
  • Update and maintain media contact list



  • eNews & print newsletter
    • Write and edit email broadcasts and newsletters
    • Ensure they are sent out on time per schedules
    • Design email templates and compelling email graphics



  • Maintain CRC website, designing new event and program pages as needed and ensure content is accurate, current and compelling


Social Media

  • Working with the Director of Development and Executive Director, create and implement a social media strategy to build and strengthen CRC’s online community through timely and engaging posts across social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube; develop new social media profiles as needed.


Video and Images

  • Create compelling visual content
  • Maintain image and video library, ensuring photos and videos are properly stored and usage rights are noted



Event planning-

  • Budgeting
  • Determining themes and activities
  • Develop event timelines and ensure projects are on track
  • Develop event collateral materials- invitations, signage
  • Event promotion
  • Work with Volunteer Manager to determine adequate volunteer support                                       for the events
    • Assist in managing volunteer committees
  • Securing in-kind support
  • Contacting and coordinating with vendors for logistical support and needs



  • Create sponsorship packages
  • Assist Director of Development with sponsorship solicitations and fulfillment
  • Create sponsorship reports



  • Solicitation of live and silent auction items
  • Maintain database of auction items
  • Acknowledgement of auction item donors
  • Manage auction check-out process
  • Track auction purchases and acknowledgement of auction bidders


Event Administration and Reporting

  • Oversees all administrative duties for event pre- and post-production; including invites, database management and associated reports
  • Track and report on all event components
  • Ensure accurate reporting of event expenses and revenue in coordination with CRC Accounting
  • Create donor, sponsor and attendee acknowledgements


Other duties as assigned





  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Must have ability to produce and proof a variety of marketing materials including print, social media, web/email, and general use
  • Ability to work independently in a small office environment is required
  • Must be flexible, adaptable and responsive to changing needs and conditions
  • Successful record of achievement in fundraising events such as galas and receptions a plus.


  • Outstanding communication skills, both in writing and in verbal presentation
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Candidate should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse pool of volunteers and staff
  • Leadership skills to marshal resources and rally the team and volunteers toward a shared vision
  • Ability to work on several projects at once with minimal supervision is required
  • Position requires strong initiative,  customer service, and follow through





  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, or related field required.


  • Minimum of four to six years of professional experience in a special events, marketing and website management position required
  • Nonprofit experience strongly preferred
  • Proven experience as a team player in a fast-paced environment


Demonstrated applied skills in donor and volunteer databases, auction software, website maintenance and computer program, including but not limited to WordPress, Constant Contact, Volgistics, eTapestry, MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Google Analytics and  social media platforms is required
