La Jolla Playhouse is looking for an entrepreneurial, dynamic development professional to join our team.  As one of the top non-profit theaters in the country, the Playhouse is at the forefront of innovation on the regional, national and international theater scenes.  Our annual operating budget is $17 million and our annual fundraising goal is $6.5 million.  Reporting to the Director of Development and working with an accomplished, collaborative fundraising team, the ideal development professional will play a key role in insuring the theater’s continued success.  If you have a passion for theater, the arts and San Diego please review our job description by clicking the link below and apply to join us in a transformative, impactful and stimulating arts environment.


The Major Gift Officer will work on the team to design, develop and implement an advanced major gift program. Responsible for managing and cultivating relationships with existing major gift prospects, as well as an emphasis on identifying new individual and corporate prospects. An ability to work with high level donors and clearly communicate our organization’s mission. Expected to energize team members, persuade prospects and persevere as the program grows into a strong 5 figure and 6 figure gift program. Leveraging existing events as a tool to attract and cultivate a new pipeline of support.
