Executive Director Access Restricted

The Burn Institute, a local health non-profit organization, is seeking an innovative and experienced Executive Director to lead the organization. The Burn Institute is dedicated to reducing the number of burn injuries and deaths by providing fire and burn prevention education, burn survivor support programs, and funding burn care research and treatment. We work hand and hand with every fire service agency in the region, as well as the UCSD Regional Burn Center to provide the highest quality programs. With a budget exceeding $1.2 million, our organization utilizes a vartiety of funding sources, including but not limited to: foundation, corporate, government, and community group grant programs; individual donations; and fundraising events, including a Gala, Awards Banquet, Boot Drive, and the Fire Expo/Demolition Derby. Our programs are two fold: fire and burn prevention education and burn survivor support. Some of our fire and burn prevention education programs include: Senior Smoke Alarm Program, Fire Safe Kids, the Scald Campaign, and the Juvenile Firesetter Program. Our burn survivor support programs include: Camp Beyond the Scars, Emergency Needs / Special Assistance Fund, Adult and Young Adult Retreats, Burn Survivor Support Groups, the Holiday Party for Burn Survivors, Supplemental Counseling, and Burn Survivor Outings. This position requires management experience, significant fundraising experience, strong ties to the community, and the ability to lead and support the efforts of a committed staff.
