Director of Communications
The San Diego Natural History Museum is seeking an accomplished Director of Communications who has at least 7- 10 years of communications experience, ideally in an “in-house” leadership role within a complex (number and variety of constituents) nonprofit or professional services entity, and covering areas such as exhibition and program advertising, marketing and PR, website content, newsletters, and member and donor communications. The San Diego Natural History Museum’s audiences include but are not limited to members, potential members (community), donors, board members, municipal leaders, opinion leaders, and employees. The ability to take knowledge and transform it into exciting and useful messages, and disseminate it to the right audiences through the best distribution channels is critical. The ideal candidate will have at least three years supervisorial experience and Spanish language fluency is preferred but not required.
